MAGNIFY PR client GB News soared past Sky News in November

According to the latest available BARB data, GB News beat Sky News in November by securing 70,430 average monthly live views compared to Sky News’ 67,670. The most recently published data for November 1 to 30 reveals GB News outperformed Sky News by securing more live viewers between 6am to 2am.

This is the first time the People’s Channel has overtaken its rival across an entire month.

GB News beat Sky News on multiple days in November 2024 and particularly excelled on the 19th, the day of the farmers’ protest in London, where it secured 90,000 average live views between 6am and 2am.

The channel dedicated a significant proportion of its coverage to the story with presenters travelling to London with farmers before covering the peaceful protest in the Capital.

Numbers soared again on the 20th, when Storm Shadow missiles were fired into Russia, and where GB News secured 83,000 live views.

On the evening of the 20th, GB News screened a world exclusive interview with Eric Trump who spoke about his father’s impending return to the White House.

Commenting, Nick Owens, founder of Magnify PR said: “Well done to GB News and the team for this remarkable achievement. We are looking forward to continue supporting the People’s Channel in 2025 and beyond.”

Magnify PR gets the vote for general election PR support

The 2024 General Election was one of the most high-profile news events of recent years – and Magnify PR was right at the heart of it.

We managed communications on behalf of our client GBNews – Britain’s fastest growing TV and radio station. This included helping oversee a General Election Night Watch Party which was broadcast live on GBNews and that was attended by more than 500 people.

In the aftermath of Labour’s historic landmark victory, the political environment in the UK has now dramatically changed. One of the most compelling stories which will spin-out from Labour’s win is the reform of the right of British politics, and how an opposition forms to hold the Government of the day to account. Magnify PR is looking forward to helping GBNews continue to play a central role in communicating this story.

Separately, through May and June, Magnify PR helped a string of our clients to secure positive publicity throughout the General Election race. We placed thought-leadership content and reactive articles in newspapers and on news websites on behalf of clients working in property, tech and across the business sector. This ensured they were able to occupy a strong media presence at a time of high interest among readers and listeners.

String of campaigning successes for Magnify PR

At Magnify PR, we take pride in our ability to plan, launch and communicate agenda-setting campaigns for our clients. In the first quarter of 2024, we’ve helped our clients publicise a string of successful crusades, helping them amplify their work, expertise, and objectives.

In January, we worked with the British Metals Recycling Association to shine a light on the rising levels of metal theft that are currently blighting the UK economy. Our PR campaign, linked to a major report published by BMRA and esteemed experts including MPs, was featured prominently in the Daily Telegraph.

In February, we produced a series of articles for Lynn Crilly, an author and expert specialising in supporting people fighting eating disorders. Lynn was keen to play a pivotal part in the media opportunities within Eating Disorders Awareness Week, and we secured coverage in the Telegraph and on GBNews – helping to magnify the lifesaving work Lynn is doing in her field.

During the same month, we supported Keeley Lengthorn, a crusading solicitor, who is fighting to secure greater rights for bereaved parents. Our campaign helped ensure parents who lose a child now receive a certificate recognising their loss. Keeley appeared across TV and radio to publicise the campaign and its continued aims.

We’ve also worked closely with the Laura Hyde Foundation to magnify the work they are doing around supporting emergency workers suffering from mental ill health. The Foundation’s report on the issues midwives are facing following the Lucy Letby trial was featured as an exclusive report in the Sunday Express in March.

At Magnify PR, we will continue to put award-winning campaigns at the heart of our work moving forward. For support in this area, please get in touch today.
